what tarp can be used to filter the light and keep cool?
The silver / black tarps are the best when it comes to blocking sunlight. The silver side reflects the sun while the black side does not allow even a small amount of light to pass through. Our white, red, green, yellow, and orange tarps are translucent which allows the natural light to remain while filtering out the UV rays. Mesh tarps, or shade screens, have 70% shade protection, which allows some light through and is breathable to keep cool.

are tarps good for windy conditions? how should i secure my tarps?
Yes but we cannot guarantee that they will withstand high winds. If you want to use your tarp in a moderately windy area, we recommend using bungee cords with hooks or ball bungees to allow the tarp to flex with the wind. This can reduce the stress on the material. These products are available on our accessories page.
what is the width side and the length side of a tarp?
We get this question asked more often than you might think; a standard tarp can be a square or rectangular flat piece of material, so basically the "width side or a length side of a tarp" depends on which way you turn it. There is not a dedicated width or length side.

All of our tarp finished sizes are approximately 6 inches or 3% smaller than the listed size. Custom tarps can be made to your exact size specifications.
